La función del mito en Republica II, III y X

The paper attempts to address the multiplicity of functions conferred on the myth in Books II, III and X of Plato's Republic realizing the paradoxes that are generated in their assessment along the three books. The myth is associated with the lowest of the human soul and, yet, at the same time is considered as an essential part of, for example, their educational plan: What is the prevailing criterion? What interconnections are generated? What is the relationship between myth and truth? Three lines of approach articulated this writing: "Myth as metaphor of philosophical thought", "The noble lie and the convergence of two functions" and "Wisdom of the myth" concerning book II, III and X respectively. The interrelationships between these approaches will, in turn, question a crystallized approach to the review that reads the Republic in which the philosopher expelled the poets from the cityEl artículo se propone abordar la multiplicidad de funciones conferidas al mito en los Libros II, III y X de la República de Platón dando cuenta las paradojas que se generan en su valoración a lo largo de los tres libros. El mito es asociado a lo más bajo del alma humano y sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, es considerado como una parte fundamental, por ejemplo, de su plan educativo: ¿Cuál es el criterio imperante? ¿Qué interconexiones se generan? ¿Cuál es la relación entre mito y verdad? Tres ejes de abordaje articularán este escrito: “El mito como metáfora del pensamiento filosófico”, “La noble mentira y la convergencia de dos funcionalidades” y “La sabiduría del mito” cada una concerniente al libro II, III y X respectivamente. Las interrelaciones entre estos abordajes pondrán, a la vez, en cuestionamiento un enfoque cristalizado de la crítica que lee la República como la obr
