This study analyzes the relation among ideology, national identity, and three expressions of well-being. A virtual survey was administered to citizens of Lima and other urban areas of Peru (n=301). Results show that authoritarian ideology reinforces identification and a positive evaluation of national ingroup, while dominant ideology diminishes it. Likewise, identification with the national ingroup is directly related to the three expressions of well-being studied. Notwithstanding, it influences more clearly social well-being than another expression of well-being. Results are helpful to reflect upon the need of implementing mechanisms of national identity development to end with the hierarchical and exclusionary dynamics of Peruvian society...
