The expanding importance of knowledge as a new production factor makes its creation and transfer one of the principal priorities in organizations. This article describes both the foundations of the resource and capacity theory as well as the focus of knowledge management with its knowledge generation and transfer processes. These are the basic theoretical guide to reach the following objective: designing of a knowledge generation and transfer model for senior management, human resources and knowledge transfer processes for PyMES with the objective of having them reach greater levels of competitiveness.
