Lições sobre pesquisa em Thompson e Hobsbawm

Throughout a research we have contact with authors who help us to think the object of study. Therefore, during the formative process of doctoral course, the author of this article analyzed the works Common Customs: studies in traditional popular culture and The making of the English working class, of Edward Palmer Thompson, and Worlds of labour: further studies in the history of labour, by Eric Hobsbawm. The analyzes led to reflections on the use of concepts, as well as on the implications of the researcher with the research; besides possibilities to interpret and transform the world, questions inherent in the act of researching.Ao longo de uma pesquisa temos contato com autores/as que nos ajudam a pensar o objeto de estudo. Sendo assim, durante o processo formativo de curso de doutorado, a autora deste artigo analisou as obras Costumes em Comum: estudos sobre a cultura popular tradicional e A formação da classe operária Inglesa, de Edward Palmer Thompson, e Mundos do trabalho: novos estudos sobre a história operária, de Eric Hobsbawm. As análises suscitaram reflexões sobre a utilização de conceitos, bem como sobre as implicações do pesquisador com a pesquisa; além de possibilidades de interpretar e transformar o mundo, questões inerentes ao ato de pesquisar
