Niños y adolescentes de la montaña: Un estudio antropométrico comparado (original)

Statistically are compared the weights and height of children and adolescents of both sexes and edge 12 to 15 years old in their mountain residential with concerning the rural and urban contexts. The retrospective anthropometric measurement made from 1998 to 2002 in Cienfuegos with 470 cases observed in the three contexts of study. For the selection of the experimental units were utilized an intentional sample, the T Test for the comparison of means and the Multifactor Analysis of Variance preceded by a descriptive analysis. It is shown that the context of residence influence in the height of girls and children and adolescent. In the urban zone the height are mayor than the mountainous context. The average height of the children and adolescents of the mountains are higher than the average established in 1979. The study concludes that contexts of residence mark physical differences statistically significant in comparison with the years seventy in relation with the height. The comparison by peers between the three types of residence shows that it’s significant for the height the combination between the urban and mountain context. The children and adolescents of the mountains have more weight than the average of the Cubans in 1979. Se comparan estadísticamente el peso y la talla de niños y adolescentes de ambos sexos, de 12 a 15 años en el contexto de residencia montañoso con respecto a los contextos rural y urbano. La medición antropométrica retrospectiva se desarrolla en Cienfuegos entre los años 1998 y 2002 con 470 casos observados en los tres contextos de estudio. Para la selección de las unidades experimentales se utilizó un muestro Intencional, la Prueba T para la comparación de las medias y el Análisis de Varianza Multifactorial precedido por un análisis descriptivo. Se demuestra que la edad y el contexto de residencia influyen en la talla de niñas, niños y adolescentes. Los residentes en las montañas tienen tallas promedio inferiores que la talla promedio de 1979. El peso promedio de los niños y adolescentes de las montañas es superior al promedio establecido en 1979, en el caso de las niñas y adolescentes ocurre lo contrario. La comparación por pares entre los tres tipos de residencia muestra que solo es significativa para la talla la combinación entre el contexto urbano y de montaña. Los niños y adolescentes de las montañas tienen más peso que el peso promedio del niño cubano del 1979.
