The implementation of policies aimed at assessing the quality of education has been a focus of debate since it was included in the education agenda in Argentina in the 1990s. Nowadays, the debate takes on an updated focus on the critical analysis of the evidence gathered from educational experiences carried out throughout the country. Likewise, the argument stems from the latest theoretical advances and the new legal frameworks. The analysis is based on a historical and political perspective, by means of a critical and comparative analysis of education quality assessment policies from 1993 to 2015.
