Perturbative analysis to the quartic oscillator is performed (also called Duffing oscillator), this is described for a quartic order term in the Hamiltonian. Initially a particular case where the Hamiltonian does not neither have forced nor damped factor was studied, applying the classic perturbation theory. This method requires to delete secular terms which lead to solutions with correct interpretation. Further on, forced and dumped terms are added, and lower solutions are obtained. Finally, in order to display the solution in the phase space and to contrast with the theoretic model the Easy Java Simulation (EJS) is used, moreover, this is an educational resource for reducing the learning curve in these topics.
