Concordancia pragmática en la flexión personal del verbo aimara

In this paper, I will present the general features of personal verb inflection in Aymara and then analyze them within the theoretical framework of generative grammar, especially within Chomsky’s Agree theory (2001). I will introduce some characteristics of Aymaran verbal inflections, contrasting them with previous studies, such as Hardman 2001, Adelaar 2004 and Aranovich 2004. These linguists proposed that the Aymaran verbal inflection always agrees with two arguments, subject and complement (such as direct object or indirect object) even in the intransitive verbs. But in this paper, I will argue that the second constituent that participates in the personal verbal agreement is not the syntactic complement, but the first or second person (participants in the speech act), independently of their syntactic functions. Based on this premise, finally, I will approach the Aymaran personal inflection within the Agree theory and conclude that, besides the syntactic agreement that always implicates the structural Case feature checking, the Aymaran personal inflection can be considered as «multiple Agree» at the postsyntactic component where a single probe T(ense) probes for and targets the subject plus whatever other participant arguments it can find. Thus, Aymaran personal inflection, in addition to the subject, can agree with the oblique argument that bears [+PRTC] person feature, implicating that phi-agreement does not always guarantee structural Case-licensingEl presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar algunas características generales de la flexión verbal en aimara (una lengua indígena de Bolivia y Perú), dentro del marco teórico de la gramática generativa, especialmente de la teoría de Agree de Chomsky 2001. En primer lugar, daremos a conocer un paradigma de las flexiones verbales del aimara que concuerdan en persona tanto con el sujeto como con un complemento de la oración. Segundo, presentaremos algunas características de la flexión personal del verbo aimara contrastándolas con los estudios previos, como los de Hardman 2001; Adelaar 2004 y Aranovich 2004. Estos autores suponen que la flexión verbal en aimara siempre concuerda con dos argumentos, el sujeto y el complemento (como el objeto directo u objeto indirecto), incluso en los verbos intransitivos. Pero en el presente trabajo argumentaremos que el segundo constituyente que participa en la flexión verbal del aimara no es el complemento sintáctico, sino la primera o segunda persona (participantes en el acto de habla), independientemente de su función sintáctica. Por último, con base en esta premisa, nos acercaremos a la flexión personal del aimara desde de la teoría de Agree y concluiremos que, además de la concordancia sintáctica que siempre implica el cotejo de rasgos de Caso estructural, la flexión personal de esta lengua se puede considerar como una «concordancia múltiple» en el componente postsintáctico: la sonda T(iempo) busca como metas los rasgos de SD sujeto y de cualquier segundo argumento que lleve el rasgo participante [+PRTC]. Por lo tanto, la flexión personal del aimara puede concordar en persona, aparte del sujeto, con el argumento oblicuo [+PRTC], implicando que la concordancia-φ no siempre garantiza la legitimación del Caso estructural
