La lucha por el agua en el país de la lluvia: Galicia, siglos XVI-XIX

This article studies the intense conflicts for water that happened in Galicia during the Early Modern Period due to the deficit of irrigation water over summer, and the complex systems of usufruct of water or domestic and agricultural use. In order to know the causes of the conflicts, their chronology, their territorial distribution and the social groups that were involved, notarial documents are used -above all, letters of authorizations and concords- as well as the water lawsuits attended by la Real Audiencia de Galicia.En este artículo se estudia la intensa conflictividad por el agua que se vivió en la Galicia de la Edad Moderna debido al déficit de aguas de riego durante el verano, y a los complejos sistemas de usufructo del agua para uso doméstico y agrícola. Para conocer las causas de los conflictos, su cronología, su distribución territorial y los grupos sociales que los protagonizaron, se utilizan escrituras notariales -sobre todo, poderes y concordias-, y los pleitos por aguas .atendidos por la Real Audiencia de Galicia
