The objective of the research was to explore the relationships established between the beliefs of self-efficacy and the teaching performance of the university professors of Sancti Spíritus. A quantitative methodology with a non-experimental transectional design was used. Participating were 250 teachers who were selected at random. The teacher self-efficacy questionnaire of the university teaching staff was used as well as the structured interview and observation. The data was processed using the statistical package SPSS version 20.0. The results showed the validity and reliability of the adapted instrument, with a reliability index of α = .95.
