The use of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, Children and Youth Version (ICF-CY) introduced by Decree-Law no. 3/2008 highlighted the recognized complexity of assessment and intervention processes in Special Education, thus legitimating efforts in the search for mechanisms to support its simplification and its potential maximization.
