The paper discusses the repercussion of educational policies in Brazil in relation to school and school knowledge conceptions and its incidence on the constitution of educational inequalities in society. The methodology of content analysis of official and unofficial documents of the World Bank and the Ministry of Education is used in order to identify policies to school and curriculum guidelines, which could be leading to the disfigurement of emancipatory functions of school knowledge.
