Análisis de la intermediación financiera en el escenario de las crisis de los siglos xx y xxi

Ithis document is intended to study the concept of fi nancial intermediation and the background of the same in the environment of some fi nancial crisis made during the XX and XXI centuries.The fi rst part presents a brief theoretical framework of fi nancial intermediation, from the point of view of asymmetric information, fi nancial innovation and risk management; and also explains the concept of fi nancial intermediation margin. The second part describes some of the major fi nancial crises given in the XX and XXI centuries, national and international, in order to analyze the performance of fi nancial intermediation during development. En la primera parte se presenta un breve marco teórico de la intermediación financiera, desde el punto de vista de la asimetría de la información, la innovación financiera y la gestión del riesgo; e igualmente se expone el concepto de margen de intermediación. En una segunda parte se describen algunas de las principales crisis financieras dadas en los siglos XX y XXI, tanto nacionales como internacionales, con el propósito de analizar el desempeño de la intermediación financiera durante su desarrollo.
