Current overview of suicide: psychological and psychoanalytical analysis

The suicide is responsible is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The suicidology gives us two major trends in the interpretation of this phenomenon: the sociological, represented by Durkheim and his followers, that shifts the blame on society, and the psychological, represented by Freud and his disciples, that considers suicide as expression of a unconscious burden of hostility directed against the beloved object previously introyectado. Some features predominate in the personality of those who commit suicide: aggressiveness, irritability and social withdrawal. Risk factors for suicide are many and varied and can be interlinked.El fenómeno del suicidio constituye una de las principales causas de muerte en el mundo. La suicidología nos ofrece dos tendencias principales en la interpretación del fenómeno autoquírico: la sociológica, representada por Durkheim y sus seguidores, le transfiere la culpa a la sociedad y la psicológica, representada por Freud y sus discípulos, ve en el suicidio la expresión de una carga inconsciente de hostilidad dirigida contra el objeto amado previamente introyectado. Algunos rasgos predominantes en la personalidad de los suicidas son: agresividad, irritabilidad y aislamiento social. Los factores de riesgo del suicidio son numerosos y diversos y es posible interrelacionarlos
