Análisis del cumplimiento de la seguridad de los equipamientos deportivos del municipio de Sevilla (España)

It is essential to ensure not only personal safety but also the equipment and facilities where sports are practiced. This study analyses the implementation of non-mandatory UNE-EN safety standards of different sports facilities that are directly managed by Seville´s Municipal Sports Institute (Spain). A quantitative, descriptive, and transversal study was carried out, using observation sheets created by the Biomechanics Institute of Valencia (IBV), and the High Sport Council, to analyse a total of 45 facilities for practicing sports such as basketball (baskets), handball and indoor football (goals), football (goals), volleyball and tennis (poles and net). The results indicate that the standards are not fully met (100%) for any of the equipment tested. Regarding the overall compliance rate, there is 60.40% for handball and futsal and 53.40% for tennis. For general issues, the equipment with the highest degree of compliance is football (76.50%) and the worst percentage is volleyball (40%). Regarding structural aspects, the handball/futsal goals stand out at 66.10% while tennis posts have the worst compliance at 46.40%. Finally, regarding net aspects, basketball stands out at 69.40% vs. 18.83% for football. These compliance percentages, which are around 50%, should be given attention by the authorities, and authorities must make this policy mandatory to ensure safety during the practice of different sportsEl presente estudio analiza el cumplimiento de la normativa de seguridad UNE-EN, de no obligado cumplimiento, de diferentes equipamientos deportivos en las instalaciones deportivas gestionadas de forma directa por el Instituto Municipal de Deportes de Sevilla (España). Se ha realizado un estudio de carácter cuantitativo, corte descriptivo y transversal, utilizando varias hojas de observación elaboradoras por el Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV) y el Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), con el fin de analizar un total de 45 equipamientos para la práctica de las modalidades deportivas de baloncesto (canastas), balonmano-fútbol sala (porterías), fútbol (porterías), voleibol y tenis (postes y red). Los resultados indican que la normativa no se cumple en su totalidad (100%) en ninguno de los equipamientos analizados. Respecto al porcentaje del grado de cumplimiento destaca el equipamiento de balonmano-fútbol sala (60,40%) y de tenis (53,40%). En cuanto a los aspectos generales, el equipamiento con mayor grado de cumplimiento es el de fútbol (76,50%) y el que peor porcentaje registra es el voleibol (40%). En los aspectos estructurales, las porterías de balonmano/fútbol sala destacan con un 66,10% y los postes de tenis (46,40%) son los que menos cumplimiento registran. Por último, en cuanto a los aspectos sobre la red, la pista de baloncesto cumple con un 69,40% frente a la de fútbol con un 18,83%. Estos porcentajes que rondan el 50% del cumplimiento de la normativa deben ser motivo de atención para las autoridades, y hacer que esta normativa sea de obligado cumplimiento para garantizar la seguridad durante la práctica de las diferentes modalidades deportivas
