Three rhythmic metrics with the purpose of classifying Spanish as a rhythmic class are calculated: (1) the proportionality of vocalic interval durations in the ratio to the total duration of the emission,% V, (2) the standard deviation of vocalic intervals normalized by logarithmic transformation, n log (base e) Delta V and (3) the standard deviation of consonantal intervals also normalized by logarithmic transformation, n log (base e) Delta C. The normalization controls the variations of tempo. A corpus of formal Peninsular microdiscourses is analyzed emitted by a professional speaker with stay in Madrid. The results confirm Spanish rhythmic class as syllable-timed and control language opposed to stress-timed and compensation languages.Se ...
