En este artículo se presenta una propuesta novedosa para ubicar de manera óptima las turbinas de un parque eólico, considerando el efecto sombra y cualquier disposición de vientos, usando la técnica metaheurística de optimización por enjambre de partículas (PSO). De igual manera se muestra la disposición que genera mayor energía para un caso propuesto, teniendo en cuenta las restricciones de distancias entre las turbinas, el área del parque eólico y el efecto sombra.
