Êxodo Rural Chinês em Direção ao Subúrbio Carioca

Research developed in the city of Rio de Janeiro which sought to critically evaluate Chinese rural exodus to the suburbs of that city. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the reasons that motivated inhabitants of poor rural areas of China to immigrate to Brazil and take up residence and work in a city which is so different from their place of origin. The conclusions are based on the analysis of interviews of Chinese migrants who settled in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro with regard to why they left China, immigrant networks encountered in Brazil, their current line of work, income and standard of living as well as continuity of language and cultural habits.Pesquisa desenvolvida na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, visando problematizar o êxodo rural chinês em direção ao subúrbio da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O propósito deste estudo é evidenciar as causas que movem os chineses habitantes das áreas rurais pobres do país a fixar suas residências e assumir postos de trabalho no Rio de Janeiro, um lugar bastante diferente em relação ao seu local de origem. Mais ainda, o presente trabalho ilustrará suas conclusões e análises através de relatos de migrantes chineses radicados no subúrbio carioca, suas motivações, seu atual padrão de vida e seus hábitos, ratificando as hipóteses aqui apresentadas
