La noche de los museos en Buenos Aires en el marco del turismo cultural: una aproximación a su impacto

The museums have served as the main attraction for tourists in many cities. In some cases, they help to define the general tourist product of a destiny and in others are the essential element of tourist product. In the last decade the local Government of Buenos Aires city, Argentina, has been developing different activities closely associated with the interest of placing the city on the cultural map and global tourist circuits. The night of the museums is one more among others (world festival of tango, notable bars, etc.) This proposal was born in 1977 in Berlin as the "Long Night of the Museums". Then, a hundred cities in Germany and 50 in the rest of the world imitated it. Buenos Aires became the first American city to join this initiative in 2004. Therefore, one Saturday a year, the museums of the city remain open at night, wearing its rich heritage and combining diverse aesthetic proposals. Twenty-nine museums and cultural spaces, receiving 35,000 visits participated in its first edition. Since then, and until today, it not ceased to grow in institutions and public. This paper attempts to analyze the evolution and the socio-economic and cultural impact of this event on the dynamics of the city, subject to data availability. Los museos han servido como la atracción principal para los turistas en muchas ciudades. En algunos casos ayudan a definir el producto turístico general del destino y en otros forman el elemento esencial de producto turístico. En la última década el gobierno local de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, viene realizando diversas actuaciones estrechamente asociadas con el interés de situar a la ciudad en el mapa cultural y los circuitos turísticos globales actuales. La Noche de los Museos es una más entre otras (festival mundial de tango, bares notables, etc.) Esta propuesta que nació en 1977 en Berlín como la “Larga Noche de los Museos”, fue imitada por cien ciudades en Alemania y cincuenta en el resto del mundo. Buenos Aires se convirtió en la primera de América en sumarse a esta iniciativa en el año 2004. Así, un sábado al año, los museos de la ciudad permanecen abiertos en horario nocturno, luciendo su vasto patrimonio y conjugando diversas propuestas estéticas. En su primera edición participaron 29 museos y espacios culturales, que recibieron 35.000 visitas. Desde entonces, y hasta el día de la fecha, no cesó de crecer en instituciones y público. Este trabajo intenta analizar la evolución y el impacto socioeconómico y cultural de este evento en la dinámica de la ciudad, sujeto a la disponibilidad de los datos.
