This paper provides a conceptual approach between the construct of deconstruction from the perspective of unlearning and the theory of Piaget’s equilibration as explanatory frameworks of the construction of knowledge in the subject. First, we present the theory of deconstruction and equilibration as processes of cognitive construction, and the general notions of both processes. Next, the paper displays the arguments that show the relationship of these processes on the basis of five elements: the transformation of the subject, autoregulation, the subject’s nature, the role of need, and the inner conditioning processes of the subject.
