Instabilidade Político-Militar, Deslocamentos Compulsórios e a Vida Cotidiana em Moçambique: uma agenda de pesquisa

Two decades after the end of the postindependence civil war in 1992, Mozambique experiences an instability caused by the political-military tension between the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the National Resistance of Mozambique (RENAMO). Thus, the country is plunged into a real war scenario, with the central region as the main center for military action. The present work aims to analyze some social effects of this military political tension in the daily life of the Mozambican people and highlight some issues for future ethnographic researches. At the same time, we criticize certain dominant discourses in the Mozambican "public arena" that, deliberately or not, reduce the social and economic effects of political-military tension to "scaring away of foreign investment" and, consequently, unfeasible development of the country. These discourses ignore, purposely or not, the socioeconomic effects of conflicts for "common citizens", especially those living in rural areas.Duas décadas depois do fim da guerra civil pós-independência em 1992, Moçambique vive uma “tensão político-militar” envolvendo a Resistência Nacional de Moçambique (RENAMO) e Forças de Defesa e Segurança (FDS). O objetivo do presente trabalho é fazer uma reflexão sobre alguns efeitos sociais dessa tensão na vida cotidiana dos moçambicanos, lançando alguns questionamentos para uma futura pesquisa etnográfica. Ao longo do trabalho fazemos também um exame crítico a certos discursos dominantes na “arena pública” moçambicana que reduzem os efeitos socioeconômicos da atual tensão político-militar ao “afugentamento dos investimentos estrangeiros” e consequentemente inviabilização do “desenvolvimento” do país.
