The piano suite Goyescas, Los major enamorados, by the Spanish composer E. Granados, is a collection of six pieces inspired by the society in Madrid in the 18th century that F. Goya portrayed in his paintings. The fame of this piano suite led Granados to create an homonymous opera. Therefore, Goyescas is a complex artistic work that brings together the painting, poetry and music, all under a strong Spanish context. El amor y la muerte, the fifth work of the collection, is one of the pieces with greater connection to the painting by Goya and the other pieces of the suite due to its thematic character.
