This paper presents the results of a study that analyzes the strategic process in small and medium business, with emphasis on the articulation of explicit and tacit components. We believe that the strategic process in small business has certain specific features that differentiate it from the processes of large firms. In this process, there is converge of resources, organizational skills, backgrounds business and strategic thinking of the small business manager. These provide specific advantages and limitations in the development stage of decision-making process of defining strategies for the organization.
