Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is a global public health problem. Adolescents are a vulnerable group against HIV infection, therefore prevention strategies are required according to this population. Therefore, the objective of the study was to design, implement and evaluate a Risk Communication Program as a strategy for health education for the prevention of HIV infection in adolescents. The study was a non-randomized intervention trial in three stages: 1) previous diagnosis, 2) design and implementation of the program, and 3) post-intervention evaluation.
