Afganistán: las dimensiones medioambientales del conflicto

This paper explores environmental dimensions of the conflict in Afghanistan. Very often the analises that are elaborated, examine the crisis in terms of energy flows and fight against the Taliban and Al Qaeda, without contemplating the importance of environmental impact. In fact, it is the climate change that impedes the cease of violence but also makes it difficult for the Afghan refugees to return to their homeland. The country is suffering its worst years of drought, what in turn leads to water stress and land scarcity. The choice of many farmers to cultivate opium instead of wheats can be attributed to those threatening circumstances.El documento explora las dimensiones medioambientales del conflicto en Afganistán. A menudo los análisis que se elaboran, examinan la crisis en términos de suministro de energía y la lucha contra los talibanes y Al Qaeda, dejando atrás el papel del impacto medioambiental. Este, no solo frena el cese de la violencia, sino que también impide el regreso de los refugiados afganos a su tierra.
