This paper explores environmental dimensions of the conflict in Afghanistan. Very often the analises that are elaborated, examine the crisis in terms of energy flows and fight against the Taliban and Al Qaeda, without contemplating the importance of environmental impact. In fact, it is the climate change that impedes the cease of violence but also makes it difficult for the Afghan refugees to return to their homeland. The country is suffering its worst years of drought, what in turn leads to water stress and land scarcity.
