Fronteiras e deslocamentos

The purpose of the article is to contextualize and systematize some relevant references of the tradition of border studies in the social sciences. In addition, we sought to reflect on the uniqueness of frontier regions in terms of places, flows, controls and representations. Finally, we present some shifts in the research agenda about border, pointing to the importance of thinking of the frontier as a sociological concept in deep articulation with other areas of knowledge.O objetivo do artigo é primeiramente contextualizar e sistematizar algumas referências relevan- tes da tradição dos estudos de fronteira nas ciências sociais. Além disso, procuramos refletir sobre a singularidade das regiões de fronteira em termos de lugares, fluxos, controles e representações. Por último, apresentamos alguns deslocamentos da agenda de pesquisa em frontei- ras, apontando para a importância de pensar a fronteira como conceito sociológico em profunda articulação com outras áreas de conhecimento
