One of the important features of XXI Century society is the continuous circulation of information. This influences the educational context, in which new professors are trained. A quantitative methodology is used in this work to identify the use of technologies that professors of the Department of Education at Los Lagos University employ in their professional activities; understand the way they value ICT in teaching and research; know the previous education that they have in order to use ICT in teaching; identify the needs of further education of the professors; consider the organizational and/or infrastructure problems that would facilitate or become an obstacle to the inclusion of ICT in teaching and research.
