Simbolismo de las representaciones y restos de cánidos en el sitio El Tlatoani, Tlayacapan, Morelos

At the top of one of the rocks, called El Tlatoani, in the town of Tlayacapan, in the State of Morelos is located an architectural system that began to be built in the Late Classic (400-600 NE). In one of its first constructive stages was located the offering of a skull of a dog (Canis familiaris), as well as an obsidian artifact that perhaps represents also one of these animals. Also, bone remains of canids have been identified in housing and domestic artisan production contexts from the Early Postclassic period (900-1175 NE). In addition, evidence has been found of the symbolic representation of these animals in the area, recorded both in rock painting and in ceramic artifacts. So, based on the architectural-astronomical orientation of the El Tlatoani complex, a regional analysis of the canids is proposed, which includes both the faunal skeletal remains and their representations in different semiotic supports. In the prehispanic society inhabited by El Tlatoani in the Classic-Postclassic transition, it is found that the processes of human use of canids varied from food consumption to its implication as a religious sign, whose evidences are: the canonical act inside the temple, its ritual use in the ravines with the rock painting, up to the daily domestic rituals through the ceramic representationEn la cima de una de las peñas, llamada El Tlatoani, en el poblado de Tlayacapan, en el Estado de Morelos se localiza un sistema arquitectónico que se comenzó a construir hacia el Clásico Tardío (400-600 NE). En una de sus primeras etapas constructivas fue localizada la ofrenda de un cráneo de un perro (Canis familiaris), así como un artefacto de obsidiana que representa quizá también a uno de estos animales. También, se han identificado los restos óseos de cánidos en contextos habitacionales y de producción artesanal doméstica procedentes del Posclásico Temprano (900-1175 NE). Además, se han encontrado evidencias de la representación simbólica de estos animales en la zona, registrada tanto en pintura rupestre como en artefactos cerámicos. Así que basados tanto la orientación arquitectónica-astronómica del conjunto El Tlatoani, se propone un análisis regional de los cánidos que incluye tanto los restos óseos faunísticos como sus representaciones en distintos soportes semióticos. En la sociedad prehispánica que habitó El Tlatoani en la transición Clásico-Posclásico se halla que los procesos de aprovechamiento de los cánidos variaron desde el consumo alimenticio hasta su implicación como signo religioso tanto en el acto canónico al interior del templo, el espacio del ritual en las barrancas con la pintura rupestre, hasta el ámbito cotidiano de los rituales domésticos en la representación cerámic
