The present paper, issued from a research required for the Master Degree in Education, has been limited to beginners’ courses on the career of Interior Design and Architecture, and has focused, in particular, on the teachers’ concepts as well as on the students’ prior knowledge and their interaction. It reveals in which way, the so-called “good” teachers weigh such knowledge and how much importance they bestow to the learning process according to its results. The interaction between teachers and students is conceived within a very specific lesson structure known as “The Workshop”.
