Abstract: The Online Communities of Practice are a place of exchange and cooperative work between students with a common goal. This paper shows the results of a research study based on the analysis of two variables that influence the effective development of college student in the Online Communities of Practice: academic results and the students´ satisfaction of the educational experience. The most significant result is that there is no direct relationship between academic achievement and the level of satisfaction among participants.
