Impacto de medidas preventivas sobre la calidad de la salud bucodental en la gestante

Pregnant women are a group where oral health is especially important, a risk group are considered significantly increase the occurrence or worsening of oral pathologies due to pregnancy, among them include the granuloma or pregnancy épulis gravidarum, carious lesions and diseases periodontal which are classified into two broad groups, gingivitis and periodontitis. These pathologies acquire their importance and impact by the impact they have on pregnancy (preterm delivery, low birth weight, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and orofacial cleft in the newborn) and the quality of life of the mother. Objective. To compare the efficacy of oral preventive measures against conventional recommendations made by the midwife, on the results of oral quality of life in pregnant women. Methods. A prospective pilot study of Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial type arises. The unit of analysis is the oral quality of life of the pregnant population attending the health center of Santa Fe (Granada), being necessary to the study of 240 pregnant women (120 +120) shows. An experimental group and a control group where the allocation to each group will be formed randomly. The Oral Health Impact Profile questionnaire-14SP (Impact Profile Oral Health) to both groups before and after treatment, consisting of an application of preventive measures in the experimental group and then check whether these measures have had an effect is applied positive and significant in the quality of life of the motherLas embarazadas son un colectivo donde la salud bucal tiene especial importancia, se consideran un grupo de riesgo por aumentar significativamente la aparición o agravamiento de patologías bucales debido al embarazo, entre éstas desta-can, el granuloma del embarazo o épulis gravídico, lesiones cariosas y las enfermedades periodontales que se clasifican en dos amplios grupos, gingivitis y periodontitis. Estas patologías adquieren su importancia por el impacto y repercusión que tienen sobre la gestación (parto pretérmino, recién nacidos de bajo peso, preeclampsia, diabetes gestacional y hendidura orofacial en el recién nacido) y sobre la calidad de vida de la gestante. Objetivo. Contrastar la eficacia de las medidas preventivas orales, frente a las recomendaciones convencionales realizadas por la matrona, en los resultados de calidad de vida oral en las gestantes. Material y método. Se plantea un estudio experimental prospectivo del tipo Ensayo Clínico Controlado Aleatorizado. La unidad de análisis será la calidad de vida oral de la población gestante que acude al centro de salud de Santa Fe (Granada), siendo la muestra necesaria para el estudio de 240 gestantes (120+120). Se for-mará un grupo experimental y un grupo control donde la asignación a cada grupo será aleatoria. Se aplicará el cuestio-nario Oral Health Impact Profile-14sp (Perfil de Impacto de Salud Oral) a ambos grupos antes y después del tratamiento, que consistirá en la aplicación de unas medidas preventivas al grupo experimental y posteriormente se comprobará si estas medidas han surtido un efecto positivo y notable en la calidad de vida de la gestante
