Abstract Education about healthcare is one of the main instruments of the professional work of social assistants in the field of healthcare. It therefore uses ethical-political, theoretical-methodological and technical-operatives, which are dimensions that guide the professional action of social workers and that are essential to a critical understanding of the professional reality and to supporting the intervention of social work. This article raises some elements for the debate about education in health as one of the working instruments of social workers in the field of healthcare.
