Ecuador due to its geographical location has constant tectonic and volcanic activity in macro level; and landslide in micro level. This last event can lead to loss of human lives and dam-age to important infrastructures. Consequently, the Ecuadorian Spatial Institute is generating geo-referenced information on this hazard at a district level through the project named "Genera-tion of geo-information for the management of the territory at national level" carried out at a 1: 25,000 scale.
