This article analyzes the thought of representing Afro-Caribbean mid-twentieth century intellectuals, to interpret the postures of claim afros’cultural and social elements. Based on the socio-political contexts that influenced and shaped his works, it puts into dialogue exponents of Antillean thought as Brathwaite, Glissant, Depestre, Alexis, Cesaire, Fanon, Guillen etc., which simultaneously diffuses from the Colombian Caribbean with Zapata Olivella and Artel, to demonstrate, from this literature, the need and importance of self-definition and self-recognition of the Caribbean peoples from their common historical and cultural experiences.Este artículo analiza el pensamiento de intelectuales afrocaribeños representativos de mediados del sig...
