Biomateriales en la cirugía reconstructiva del seno frontal

A retrospective and descriptive study in the ENT service at the General Teaching Hospital Dr. Agostinho Neto Guantanamo is done from March 1982 to February 2012, with the aim of analyzing the results of reconstructive surgery of the frontal sinus using various biomaterials in a total of 58 patients with breast conditions. Fractures and osteomas were the most frequent. The surgical techniques were used: primary reconstruction and osteoplastic flap among the most bone, biomaterials were used: methyl methacrylate and hydroxyapatite, in the first was obtained the largest number of postoperative complications and poor cosmetic results.Se realiza un estudio retrospectivo y descriptivo en el servicio ORL del Hospital General Docente Dr. Agostinho Neto de Guantánamo, en el período comprendido entre marzo del 1982 a febrero 2012, con el objetivo de analizar los resultados obtenidos en la cirugía reconstructiva del seno frontal con los distintos biomateriales utilizados en un total de 58 pacientes con afecciones de éste seno. Las fracturas y osteomas fueron las más frecuentes. Las técnicas quirúrgicas más utilizadas fueron la reconstrucción primaria y el colgajo osteoplástico, entre los biomateriales óseos los más utilizados fueron el metilmetacrilato y la hidroxiapatita, en el primero se obtuvo el mayor número de complicaciones postoperatorias y pobres resultados cosméticos.
