The article integrates, in a descriptive, contrastive and critical way, some of the main theoretical principles related toliterary education; particularly the poetic education, centered in the reading and interpretation of poetry. It addresses some of the most common problems and difficulties faced by literature teachers when approaching these kinds of texts with their students.
