In this article review the novels Prisión verde of Ramón Amaya Amador and Viento fuerte of Miguel Angel Asturias from a gender perspective. The aim of the study is to determine the roles that women and men play in the worlds narrated by the banana novels in which the power of the enclave subdues both men and women to its caprice.
