El joven hoy ¿consumidor o consumido?

This article is focused in recognizing the context of today's youth and thus the changes that have surrounded their lives. First, it presents an overview of the changes that society has had between the nineteenth and the beginning of the twenty-first century, with regard to the child�s status, the concept of the woman, the man's role, the position of adolescents, and the role of family and educational institutions. Also, it shows how the authority and law position have been violated by these changes, leading to disorientation in adolescents, the ones that have been the target for consumer society and science, which offer them attractive solutions to the inherent questions and anxieties of life.Este artículo tiene como propósito reconocer el contexto de los jóvenes de hoy y con ello los cambios que han rodeado sus vidas. En primer lugar, presenta un panorama general de las transformaciones que ha vivido la sociedad entre el siglo XIX y el naciente siglo XXI, con respecto al estatuto del niño, la concepción de la mujer, el papel del hombre, el lugar del adolescente, la función de la familia y de las instituciones educativas. Luego, muestra el modo como estos cambios vulneraron el lugar de la autoridad y la ley, y de ahí, originaron la desorientación de los adolescentes, caldo de cultivo para la sociedad de consumo y la ciencia, que ofrecen soluciones tentadoras a las preguntas y angustias inherentes a la vida
