Three cultivars of ancho-type chili peppers were evaluated for their performance under greenhouse conditions. Two were commercial hybrids (‘San Juan’ and ‘Caballero’) and one a local criollo selection. The experiment was carried out in a research greenhouse at the fi eld station of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes’ Posta Zootécnica. The experiment was a two-way factorial in randomized complete blocks, with a split-plot arrangement of treatments. Main plots were four concentrations (25, 50, 75, and 100%) of Steiner’s hydroponic solution. Sub-plots were the three cultivars.
