Research results on perceived family discrimination, depression and anger against women infected with HIV/AIDS by family members is provided through on this paper. For this study 200 women infected with the virus were sampled; the Feared and Perceived Discrimination Scale and Beck’s Depression and the State and Trait Anger Expression Inventories were applied. Lower levels of discrimination among women infected by family members were more prevalent than in any other situation leading to contraction of the virus. In this model, family discrimination showed control of anger and a small direct effect on cognitive-affective symptoms of depression.
