Nuevas fiestas rurales y promoción del consumo de productos locales: la cereza de Alcongosta y las setas de Alcaide (Portugal)

This article summarizes an anthropological research carried out in two festivals of the Municipality of Fundão (Portugal), specifically in the towns of Alcongosta and Alcaide. In the first city, the 2015 “Cherry Festival” was studied and then in the second city, the 2016 “Mushroom Festival”. The objective of the research was to analyze the influence that these festivals have promoting the consumption of the products aforementioned. In order to achieve this objective, two ethnographic observations were carried out by the researchers, which included participant observation, interviews plus oral, photographic and sound data collections. From the analysis of the results obtained in the field work, it has been possible to conclude that a number of parties have been created in these localities outside the traditional religious calendar, with the objective of increasing consumption and the trade of quality local rural products. This new festival cycle, that includes other towns, is intentionally encouraged by municipal authorities with not only the objective of increasing consumption, but also to encourage tourism and visits to these small towns. Therefore, it gives them regional importance and visibility, which they would not have otherwise.El presente artículo resume una investigación antropológica realizada en dos fiestas del Municipio de Fundão (Portugal), concretamente en los pueblos de Alcongosta y Alcaide. En la primera localidad se estudió la “Fiesta de la cereza” del año 2015 y, en la segunda, el “Festival de las setas” de 2016. El objetivo fue analizar la influencia que tales fiestas tienen en la promoción del consumo de los productos mencionados. Para lograrlo se realizaron sendas observaciones etnográficas por parte de los investigadores que incluyeron observación participante, entrevistas y recogida de datos orales, fotográficos y sonoros. A partir del análisis de los resultados obtenidos en los trabajos de campo se ha podido concluir que se ha desarrollado en estas localidades una serie de fiestas, al margen del calendario tradicional religioso, que está orientada al incremento del consumo y el comercio de productos rurales autóctonos de calidad. Y que este nuevo ciclo festivo, que también incluye otros pueblos, es intencionadamente fomentado por las autoridades municipales con el objetivo indicado de elevar el consumo, el turismo y las visitas a estas pequeñas localidades, otorgándoles así una importancia y una visibilidad regional que de otra manera no tendrían.
