Cultura surda em uma Região Amazônica: a diferença narrada pelos surdos

This study aims to centralize the discussion on the representation of production processes and deaf people from the cultural discourse. It aims to discuss the relations of power / knowledge involved in the circulation of cultural meanings produced by deaf people, identified as community leaders in the city of Santarém, Western Pará region. This research project emerges from observations and conversations that had been articulated within the Group of Study and Research in Deaf Education (GEPES) of the Federal University of Para West, over which some deaf employees and participate in the region. So are tensioned the speeches of deaf adults as cultural legitimation strategy and linguistic thinking of the meanings produced in these narratives about the concept of deaf culture. Culture with a view to which this undertaking is affiliated, is crossed by the discursive process and begins to be studied within its social complexity, located in an arena of conflicts generated by the search for meaning, which, therefore, are part of the games of relations power / knowledge. Based on the field of Cultural Studies in Education, this study seeks to shed new insights on the concepts of culture, thinking that as circular and not fixed product. Thus, is not restricted in structured methods but Loose, intending to produce and to be produced by the data analyzed here. In this investigation, it was revealed that the cultural movement of the deaf in Santarém-PA is still guided by a process of social and political recognition, governed by events and organizations seeking to legitimize this culture and remain the difference.Este estudo busca centralizar a discussão nos processos de representação e produção de sujeitos surdos sob o discurso cultural. Procura-se problematizar as relações de poder/saber envolvidas na circulação de significados culturais produzidos pelos próprios surdos, identificados como líderes comunitários na cidade de Santarém, região Oeste do Pará. Tal empreendimento de pesquisa emerge de observações e conversas que vinham sendo articuladas dentro do Grupo de Estudo e Pesquisa em Educação de Surdos (GEPES) da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará, em que circulam e participam alguns colaboradores surdos da região. Assim, são tensionados os discursos de surdos adultos como estratégia de legitimação cultural e linguística, pensando nos significados produzidos nessas narrativas sobre o conceito de cultura surda. A cultura, na perspectiva à qual esse empreendimento se filia, está atravessada pelo processo discursivo e começa a ser estudada dentro de sua complexidade social, situada em uma arena de conflitos gerados pela busca de significação, que, portanto, fazem parte dos jogos das relações de poder/saber. Fundamentado no campo dos Estudos Culturais em Educação, este estudo busca lançar novos olhares sobre os conceitos de cultura, pensando esse como produto circular e não fixo. Dessa forma, não se restringe em métodos estruturados, mas movediços, na intenção de produzir e ser produzido pelos dados aqui analisados. Nesta investigação, foi possível perceber que a movimentação cultural dos surdos em Santarém-PA ainda está pautada em um processo de reconhecimento social e político, regido pormanifestações e organizações que buscam legitimar essa cultura e manterem-se na diferença
