In this paper, a family and gender approach is applied to the analysis of different types of the internal migration in Spain at the beginning of the 90s. Our information source is the 5% household micro-data sample from the 1991 Census, available through the National Institute of Statistics (Instituto Nacional de Estadística, INE). A set of 343,593 first-married couples at the time of the Census has been obtained. Different logistic models have been built based on the information about the age of both spouses, the region of residence in 1990, the household composition by place of birth of spouses and offspring, the educational level, the number of cohabitant and emancipated children, the labour status and other socio-demographic characteris...
