Introduction. The spread of dengue is attributed to the expanding geographic distribution of the four serotypes of dengue and the spread of its mosquito vectors, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Ae. aegypti reinfestations began in the 90s in several provinces of Cuba along with the introduction of Ae. albopictus in 1995. Objective. Determine the spatial and temporal distribution of Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus breeding sites in Pinar del Río province, Cuba from 2003-2010. Materials and Methods. Larval collections were made throughout the province, following the methodology of the Ae. aegypti control program. Results. Ae. aegypti presence increased in 13 (92.8%) of all municipalities in the province in 2010, while Ae. albopictus was fou...
