Introduction. The larvicidal activity of plant essential oils and their derivates makes possible to use them as candidates for an alternative control method against Aedes aegypti larvae. Objective. To determine the larvicidal activity of four essential oils extracted from widely-spread plants in Cuba against Aedes aegypti larvae. Materials and Methods. Larvicidal bioassays were carried out according to the methodology recommended by the World Health Organization. Mortality reading was recorded after 24 h of exposure.
