Televisión digital terrestre y cultura audiovisual en España: Nuevos retos del servicio público

This article deals with the challenges of digital earth television (tdt) that have confronted Spain during these last years. The author maintains that putting in motion this type of model has contributed to define a new frame of aperture and modification of the system and the audio visual culture, an achievement that, in a short lapse of time, foretells important structural transformations within the market and the audio visual industry of the Spanish State. Also, his paper analyzes the debate on the role of cultural policies and the future of the state system of radio and television, as well as the viability of the television industry in face of the over saturation of the number of competitive operators.Este artículo aborda los retos que la televisión digital terrestre (tdt) en España ha tenido que enfrentar en los últimos años. El autor sostiene que la puesta en marcha de este tipo de modelo ha contribuido a definir un nuevo marco de apertura y modificación del sistema y la cultura audiovisual, logro que, a corto plazo, augura significativas transformaciones estructurales del mercado y la industria audiovisual del Estado español. Asimismo, el trabajo analiza la discusión sobre el papel de las políticas culturales y el futuro del sistema radiotelevisivo estatal, así como la viabilidad de la industria televisiva ante la sobresaturación del número de aperadores en competenci
