Comportamiento de necesidades protésicas en niños

Artificial dentures in Children play an important role, helping to restore masticatory function, aesthetics and preventing malocclusions. A retrospective, observational, descriptive and longitudinal study was conducted in order to determine the behavior of prosthetic needs children treated at the General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto" in the period 2012-2014. The study group consisted of 40 children who were studied in full. As studied variables: Age, sex, cause of loss of teeth, dental arch affected arch, type of prosthesis used in the treatment. The predominant age group was 15-17 years and males. Damage to the upper dental arch was the most representative. The most common cause of tooth loss was injuries. The prostheses used for rehabilitation treatment were removable partial. Las dentaduras artificiales para niños cumplen un papel importante, ayudando a restablecer la función masticatoria, estética y previniendo maloclusiones. Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo, longitudinal retrospectivo con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de las necesidades protésicas en niños atendidos en el Hospital General Docente “Dr. Agostinho Neto” en el periodo 2012-2014. El universo de estudio estuvo conformado por 40 niños los cuales fueron estudiados en su totalidad. Se estudiaron variables como: edad, sexo, causas de pérdida de los dientes, arcada dentaria afectada, tipo de prótesis utilizadas en el tratamiento. El grupo de edad que predominó fue de 15-17 años, así como el sexo masculino. El daño en la arcada dentaria superior fue el más representativo. La causa más frecuente de pérdida de los dientes fueron los traumatismos. Las prótesis utilizadas para el tratamiento rehabilitador fueron las parciales removibles
