The principle of inertia constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of Classical Physics, which states all the essential changes in the understanding of the universe that marked the ending of Medieval and Renaissance Physics of the 17th century. Since then, its own definition and conceptualization have been assimilated to become household terms and its use has extended to other areas of knowledge, generally to describe an opposition to change.
