This study aims to develop and validate an instrument to assess perception of pupils about their teachers' support on basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence and relatedness) in physical education classes. The sample was formed by 2.227 pupils, ranging in age from 13 to 17 years old (M = 13.97; SD = .79). We carried out exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, nomological validity and factorial invariance analysis. Results reported that Questionnaire of Basic Psychological Needs Support (QBPNS) could be a valid and reliable instrument to measure autonomy, competence and relatedness support, showing a scale that led analyze from a wide perspective social factors that influence on motivational processes deve...
