In this paper, the performance of the manufacturing subsectors of the Mexican States located in the Central Region of Mexico (Mexico City, State of Mexico, Puebla, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Morelos and Tlaxcala) is analyzed. It was found that manufacturing, being a strategic sector for the economies of the region and the Mexican States that integrate it, has lost dynamism compared with previous years since the growth rates of production and employment have practically kept stagnated. The subsector of transport equipment production outstands in the region and States as the one with the greatest growth and highest employment generation.
